When questions pop up, I'll add them here for future reference.
What is an RPG? RPG is an acronym for Role Playing Game. Role Playing is a concept we all know - acting, pretending. The idea is that you create a character, of which you dictate the actions of. It is much like writing a book, but the other characters are created and played by other people. RPGs encompass a wide range of mediums, I'll list a few here:Post-by-Post -- Post-by-post Role Plays are usually situated on forums such as this, e.g they are forum-based. Each person alternatively posts the actions of their character. Brainchild was created to help forum-based RPGs improve their appearance and their content. Live-action -- Live-action Role-Plays are enacted in chat-rooms, and are similar to forum-based Role-Plays though the rate of play is faster and more spontaneous. Instead of longer descriptive posts, live-action usually alternates in sentences, or paragraphs, or just speech. Multi-player Online -- Massive Multi-player Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs) are popular with gamers, they are PC games in which you create your character, and can manipulate them visually around the world in which they live. Other characters are played by real people or the computer (Non-Player Characters, NPCs). These are more like real-time Role-Plays. World of Warcraft, EverQuest and my personal favourite, Vanguard, are some such games. They are focused mainly around adventure, rather than social interaction like the previous two.
Why hasn't my banner been added to your affiliates!? Because Brainchild is mainly based on improving RPGs, we don't have enough space to advertise you all on the front page! To be listed on the advertisement section, you must be a full member that has contributed to the site in some way whether it be big or small! Answer a question, help someone out!
